How to set up Google Tag Manager Integration

What is Google Tag Manager?

Google Tag Manager (GTM) is a free tool provided by Google that allows you to manage and deploy various tags (small pieces of code or tracking scripts) on your website or mobile app without having to modify the code directly. Tags are used for tracking user interactions, running analytics, or integrating third-party services like ads, heatmaps, or chat tools.


Google Tag Manager can be used to track users’ interactions on your main website to your Coordinate Booking Site.

What can you track in the Coordinate Sport app and your website?

You will be able to track a number of user interactions on the Booking site such as:

  • Item ID (E.g. Projects, Blocks, or Sessions)

  • Project Name

  • Blocks

  • Price

  • Transaction ID

  • Quantity

  • Order ID

  • Value

  • Email of the Customer

  • Currency

How do I set Google Tag Manager up?

  1. First, you will need to create an account in Google Tag Manager.

  2. Instructions will display on screen on how to install Google Tag Manager. You will need retain these codes to insert into your Coordinate Sport account. Please see this Google help guide if you need further assistance with this.

  3. To install Google Tag Manager in the Coordinate Sport application.

  4. In the Coordinate Sport app, click on Settings > Integrations.

  5. Scroll down to the Google Tag Manager section.

  6. Insert the header code snippet in to Google Tag Manager - Head.

  7. Copy the footer code snippet into the Google Tag Manager - Body.

  8. Press Save.

  9. Once Saved, in Google Tag Manager go to Triggers > 'New' > Choose a Trigger Type > All Elements > Save

Once you have done this you will see your customer data pulled from the Coordinate Sport app and your website where applicable.

To check the information coming through, check the Preview Mode in Google Tag Manager. This acts as a live 'debug' mode and as you make active clicks on the booking site you will see a live preview of the page being tracked and information being logged in Google Tag Manager.

Google Tag Manager is only compatible with Google Analytics 4.
